Battle for Equality Early This blunder
demonstrates a good point in the early goings. Instead of simply playing safe
and hoping to roll better later I should be battling to even things up with
a bolder play. By slotting the bar pt. and hitting on the 5pt I will likely
make a key point if I am missed or even if one of my checkers gets hit.
My opponent has already made their bar point and is going for the advanced
anchor. You cant let those things happen without a fight. Keys
to remember: Fight for the key points early on. The 5 and 4
and 7pts on both sides of the board. These are the points you dont want your
opponent to have and the ones you want yourself. By fighting for them early you
come out ahead two ways. If you relinquish them without a fight, your
opponent will take them and you will be struggling the rest of the game.
If you fight for them you just may get them and be in a more powerful
position yourself.
