Containment Now here's a real containment problem. I
jumped out from the 21pt with both checkers figuring that would give me the
best control of the outfield. Well there are other issues here. One is
hanging around and being a pain in my opponents home board not allowing
them to play safely in there with some of their awkward numbers. By staying on
the 21pt with one checker, I make 1's, 2's, and 3's difficult to play. Another
is playing 13 to 7 to add a builder for my board and to be a little
cautious of my opponent's 5 hitting rolls and respect that 5pt board. I have
three checkers that will be ripe for hitting, no need to go all out
early. Key to remember: There is no need to completely
leave your opponents board to control the outfield when there is a chance of
picking up another checker. This is common when you may be able to jar
another checker loose when your opponent is behind a prime after a late
hit.
