| Checker play |
| When to play aggressive Here I thought.. ok.. I'll start off my opponents 5pt in hopes of an advanced anchor, and I will make a 4pt prime while duplicating 1's. Turns out this is one of those times when the aggressive play is necessary for a few reasons. 1. Those checkers on my opponents 6pt are just looking for a reason to start off the 5pt. No need to come "under the gun" 2. Getting hit without some big upsides if I dont get hit aren't called for at the moment since I am ahead in the race while my opponent has the makings of a prime 3. You should always be wary of leaving that midpoint too early in the game 4. There are huge upsides to hitting twice a. I have the amunition to pull off a blitz b. If my opponent fans I can double them out of the game right away c. It stops my opponent from making an advanced anchor which would make them a big favorite Keys to remember: When faced with the choice of making a bold or passive play, look at the above factors for your decision |
