Checker play
tempt your opponent to lose
I thought I should avoid leaving a blot and wait for the shot that would surely come when my opponent rolled a 6. This has a couple of flaws. I am not gaurranteed a shot next time and I will likely have to leave a shot myself on the next roll. Even if I do get a shot, I wont have a great board to keep them there. This is a play I didnt think about until the analysis and I love it. By making the 5 and 2 points and having a closed board I leave a shot on the 10pt. I'm not even sure I would hit it with a blot in my board and all those return shots.
Keys to remember: Carefully consider your options (thats becoming a theme here) and in situations like these, think about all the return shots when you are thinking of leaving a blot. If my opponent's board was closed however, I wouldn't be volunteering the shot
