Checker play
At double match point I dont need to be getting so far behind that i have to drop a double. Here i was trying to keep my opponent off balance by hitting on the 1pt (rarely a good idea). Instead I should have been using this roll to set up for the advanced anchor which would keep me in the game for the long haul by coming in on the 5 and splitting to the 3.
Keys to remember: Dont give up hope of winning forward this early in the game. Hitting on the one point is rarely useful when there are other ways to play the roll and your opponent isn't threatening to do something constructive.
