This is the perfect time to execute the hit and split. By hitting with 6/2* and splitting 24/21, I give myself an excellent chance to improve on both sides of the board by starting a point in my home board and advancing my anchor against whites growing prime. The hit is important because it takes away half of whites roll limiting his chances to improve on his side of the board and allowing me some breathing room to get that crucial anchor.
Keys to rember: Use the hit and split when getting an advanced anchor is important. Especially when there are no other good options like in this position.
