Well this slick move cost me the match. Since I was
behind I thought it more important to keep pressure on those back two checkers
by only coming out to the 16pt leaving myselft 7 pips away. Just ask a "craps"
player how often 7's come. I should have just taken my winfall roll, moved that
back checker out of harm's way, and counted on my midpoint to supply
pressure on white's back two checkers. I was almost even in pips after this
roll so a race would have been fine. Instead I paid for my mistake with
my opponent's 6-1 on the next roll. Keys to remember: If the
race is close, race. Don't hang back to put extra pressure on them when
you dont need to.
