I just got a great roll and I used it to put myself
right back into trouble. Just because I CAN hit on the 5 pt. isn't
enough reason to. This roll can be used two ways (I was blinded by my need
for the 5pt). If I wanted to play aggressively, I could hit loose on the 5pt.
and make the 3pt. I think the better way to play this one however is just to
make the 10pt from the bar and then safety that checker from my opponents bar
point. Now everything is nice and neat and ready to build on with the next
roll. Keys to remember: Don't blindly hit on the 5pt
every time you get a chance. Take a little longer to consider the
options with doubles. Doubles are often a great way to consolidate your
checkers and stop the bleeding for a turn or two.
