Checker play
There are times when you just need to hit loose to try to get something going. This is definitely one of those times. By moving to the 22 point off the bar I am really accomplishing little. I will most likely be hit loose myself and flounder on the bar for the rest of the game and get gammoned (psst.. this is what happened). By hitting loose on my 4 pt. I am taking away half my opponents roll which is always a good thing and giving myself a chance at a 4 pt. prime which is a lot more than I have to work with at the moment. I am behind in the race so getting another checker sent back isn't so back and may even help if it gets me an anchor.
Keys to remember: When behind, don't just lay down and die, work a little harder to make something happen. If you are already behind, getting another checker sent back may turn out to be more beneficial than the situation you are currently in.
